We had Maia's medical exam yesterday. This is the exam to decide if she's well enough to leave the country and enter a new one. It's very detailed and scientific. To give you an idea, the hearing test consisted of a bell ringing on the side of her head. Maia turned to the sound and the doctor looked at me and said "normal". I can't wait to get her to our pediatrician! Maia was the only baby to cry through the whole exam. The good news is that as soon as I pick her up she calms. She's just very scared of strangers and I'm no longer a stranger to her. YEAH! She is very comfortable and cuddly with me. She's getting a little better with Keith.

Here are the stats:
27 inches long
18 lbs.

These measurements were done with her fully clothed and squirming and screaming. Like I said, very scientific.

Then we went for a walk and she took a 2 1/2 hour nap. Then she played in the swan room for almost 3 hours. We had yummy pizza for dinner and she slept in her crib from 8:30 pm to 6:30 am!!!

Hi Dev and Dyl!! Have a fun day :):):)

Tricia and Keith,
I love reading about your days together with Maia! I'm so glad to hear that she's becoming more attached! That's so wonderful! She's your girl for sure! Olivia can't wait to meet her new friend. How wonderful that you got to spend her first birthday with her! Happy Birthday Maia! Carolyn!

Hey Maia,

I'm really happy that you are feeling safe with your Mommy and Daddy. I'm keeping my Mommy and Daddy up late tonight....trying to see what it's like in your time zone ;) Your birthday cake looked yummy! I didn't want anything to do with mine...wouldn't even stick my finger in it! I had Mommy and Daddy so confused because I normally eat everything! Guess what? I took a couple of steps! Boy, if you ever want to see your parents act crazy just walk a little!

See you soon!

Love,
Thomas
