Protect our Children

I received the following email from a family friend and I wanted to share it. I don't think she'll mind. :)


Hi All,

I just got finished watching the Oprah show and trust me it was not easy to watch. I made myself sit there and listen to what she and others had to say. It made me physically ill, but I need to share this with you, because unless we are aware of the horrific things that sexual predators do to our children we won't do enough to stop them. I have this show on Tivo and will save it in the event anyone wants to view it themselves. Trust me it would make you do what I am doing. We are talking about infants, that's right infants, toddlers and young children who are being raped & molested and videotaped to show other animals on the internet by the most awful, despicable people. Our senators have the power to pass a bill that would immensely help the law to catch these animals. They, the law actually are able to track these animals down by their computers, they don't have the money for the manpower that is required to put these animals where they belong. Please, help. The bill is called, Protect our Children Act and it is Senate Bill number 1738. The senate is going to recess September 26th, and this bill is going to come up before recess. We must all e-mail, write and call our senators. There is a letter on http://www.oprah.com/ that you can paste and copy and send your senators, or just write your own e-mail or letter, just ask that they vote YES. Don't be afraid to call, just say please urge Senator "whomever" to vote YES on Senate bill #1738. We need to protect the children who have no voice to protect themselves. I urge you to watch this program if you can. I also urge everyone of you whom receives this from me to send it on to your class lists, friends, relatives and everyone and anyone you can. Create a LOUD BUZZ, don't be complacent and think that someone else will do this, we are the someone else.

Also, a very frightening fact is that 3 out of 4 of these children are molested by someone they and you know and trust.
